Oblivious

I sit on the ground
looking around in awe of this world
Above me is a canopy of trees
allowing only splashes of light
to fall around me
My thoughts turn to you
You have no idea what you mean to me
and I can't show you
For your heart belongs to someone else
and I will respect that
For as long as you want me to
But I can't change how I feel
You captivate me
Your passion and dedication
fascinate me
It is this energy
that draws me to you
for energy is what I live for
I wish that I could experience that
That I could feel your fire
coursing through me
making me come live
But I'll settle for sitting to the side
watching you live your life
